In November, Mayor Hagerty put out a call for talented young artists to submit their designs for his annual holiday card, disseminated this year digitally. With a record-breaking more than 100 submissions, six finalists were selected: Ava Barski of Saint Athanasius School, Isabelle Switnanek of Chiaravalle Montessori, Tate Dunn of Willard Elementary School, Omkaaraa Kamath of Willard Elementary School, Georgia Stoolmaker of Nichols Middle School, and Ainslie Stoolmaker of Evanston Township High School.

The winning design, along with the other finalists', were turned into holiday cards that can be purchased online. Proceeds will support the Mayor's Holiday Food, Book, and Toy Drive. Residents can also provide their support for the drive by dropping off toys, children’s books, and non-perishable food items at locations throughout Evanston.

"While all of the artists' designs were creative and fun, Tate's card stood out because of its message of peace and its inclusivity of the many diverse holidays celebrated throughout Evanston,” said Mayor Hagerty.
