George C. Novota, 93, passed away September 7, 2014.
Born in Chicago May 1, 1921, he served proudly in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. On his return from the war, George pursued several jobs before beginning a 35 year career in the printing business.

Upon his retirement in April of 1984 George and June fulfilled a lifetime dream by retiring to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In the fall of 2005 they returned to Evanston, IL to live out their remaining years with their children and grandchildren.
A distant second to his remarkable love affair with June and devotion to his family, George’s passions were the beach, the water, the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks and the company of neighbors and good friends.

Out of respect for the way he lived his life the family has chosen to celebrate that life with a private funeral, but they are eternally grateful for the prayers and good wishes they have received and continue to receive from all their friends and associates.
Beloved husband of June for 67 years; loving father of Sharon (William) LaSheff, Jackie (Vince) Abbott, Candace (Hub) Arkush, Stacy (Steve) Stiglic and Mark (Christine) Novota; cherished grandfather of Kelly, Dawn, Billy, Arthur, Taylor, Linsey, Matthew and Chase; adored great grandfather of Robyn, Emily, Cailey, Madison, Autumn, Blake and Evan.
