Gregory M. Chanen of Chicago, IL, and formerly of Evanston, age 56, died on September 9, 2014.
He was a deeply loved son of Doralu and Franklin Chanen, the beloved brother of Bruce and Stuart Chanen, the dear brother-in-law of Julie Fenton and proud uncle of Sydney, Alexander, Emma and Elliot.

Greg’s funeral will be a private family service at the Chicago Jewish Funeral Home in Skokie, Illinois.
A graduate of Kendall College, Greg was an avid reader and traveler. Greg delighted in engaging with people on his favorite topics, such as politics, history and sports. Greg relished his independence and traveled extensively around the United States and to several foreign countries. Greg will be remembered for his indomitable spirit which enabled him to meet and overcome serious challenges.
