Evanston Police ID Fatal Shooting Victim

A 20-year-old man was shot shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Darrow Avenue. He died at the hospital.

At approximately 9:06 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, Evanston Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1300 block of Darrow Avenue and located a 20-year-old male shot in the head and torso.

Evanston Police Department spokesperson Perry Polinski told Patch that a neighbor on the street called police after hearing shots fired.

The man, identified as Evanston resident Benjamin Bradford-Mandujano, was transported to Evanston NorthShore University Hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries approximately two hours later.

Evanston Police detectives along with the North Regional Major Crime task force are currently investigating this homicide. Bradford-Mandujano appears to have been targeted based on the preliminary investigation.
