Evanston Runners Complete 2022 Chicago Marathon
The 44th edition of the race featured more than 40,000 runners Sunday in Chicago.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Marathon has become a fall tradition for many runners from across Chicagoland, the United States and even around the world. This year's 44th edition was no different as more than 40,000 runners took to the 26.2 mile street course Sunday in sunny, but breezy, conditions.
Benson Kipruto, of Kenya, won the men's division with a time of 2 hours, 4 minutes and 24 seconds, while Ruth Chepngetich, of Kenya, was the top women's finisher at 2:14.18. Chepngetich was also the first woman to cross the finish line in 2021.
In the newly formed non-binary division, Blank Bruno, of the United States, was first in 2:47.12, according to the unofficial results. Marcel Hug, of Switzerland, was No. 1 in the men's wheelchair division with a time of 1:25.20. Susannah Scaroni, of the United States, won the women's wheelchair division in 1:45.48.
