Shop On Central Street to Benefit Local Organizations
10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Central Street, Evanston
Saturday is a great day to go shopping—especially this Saturday, when you might want to make a trip to Central Street. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., participating businesses will donate 10 to 15 percent of sales to several local organizations. Those include Boys Hope Girls Hope, C.A.R.E. For the Evanston Animal Shelter, Center for Independent Futures, The Cradle Foundation, Evanston Connections for the Homeless, Evanston Public Library Friends, Mitchell Museum of the American Indian, SHORE Community Services, Women’s Club of Evanston and Y.O.U. Evanston.
Carve a Pumpkin at Whole Foods South
12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Whole Foods Market Evanston South, 1111 Chicago Ave., Evanston
Buy a pumpkin at the register, then come to the café to carve it using kits provided by Whole Foods Market.
Hear Midwest Young Artists Youth Jazz Combos at World of Beer

Celebrate Franz Liszt’s 202nd Birthday
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave. in Evanston; $10 general admission
The American Liszt Society of Chicago commemorates the composer’s 202nd birthday with an evening of performances by artists such as Claire Aebersold and Ralph Neiweem, Svetlana Belsky, Alexander Djordjevic, Andrew Guo, Matthew Hagle, Brenda Huang, Sung Hoon Mo, George Radosavljevic and Paul Sanchez.
