Free Meals For Children Available Through Evanston Summer Food Program
For nine weeks, free cold breakfasts and lunch will be available at designated locations in Evanston.

EVANSTON, IL — Starting Monday, the city's parks, recreation and community service department will begin offering free meals to children on weekdays for nine weeks as part of the Evanston Summer Food Program.
Cold breakfast and lunches will be available to children ages 1 to 18 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Breakfast will be available on Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 9 a.m., while lunch will be served from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (See menus below)

All kids are eligible, regardless of where they reside or how much money their family has, according to city staff.
The program, which is funded by a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education, will not serve any meals for July 4.

Free meals will be available five locations until the program concludes on Aug. 9.
Dewey Elementary School, 1551 Wesley Ave.; Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.; Mason Park, Church Street at Florence Avenue; Robert Crown Community Center, 1801 Main St.; and Dawes Elementary, 440 Dodge Ave.
From June 10 to July 19, meals will also be available at Kingsley Elementary School, 2300 Green Bay Road, and Oakton Elementary School, 436 Ridge Ave., according to Evanston/Skokie School District 65.

Friday:
- Mini Maple Waffles (2.47 g)
- Low-Fat Yogurt (4 oz)
- 1% Milk (8 oz)
Lunch Menu
Monday:
- Chicken Salad on Croissant (1.5 oz chicken, 25 g croissant)
- Fruit Cup (4 oz)
- 100% Fruit Juice (1/2 cup)
- 1% Milk (8 oz)
Tuesday:
- Deli Sandwich (2 oz turkey, 2 oz cheddar cheese, 25 g whole grain bread)
- Fruit Cup (4 oz)
- 1% Milk (8 oz)
Wednesday:
- Italian Sub Sandwich (2 oz Italian combo, 25 g roll, 2 oz American cheese, 1/4 cup vegetables)
- 100% Fruit Juice (1/2 cup)

Thursday:
- Domino's Cheese Pizza (50 g pizza crust, 2 oz cheese)
