Roycemore School’s legacy of scholarship, citizenship, and excellence is perhaps best embodied by the Robert Eisner Distinguished Scholar Program. The scholarship awards up to three outstanding rising 9th or 10th-graders with a full tuition scholarship to the #1 Most Diverse Private High School inIllinois (Niche 2022 and 2023). In their application, students must demonstrate academic excellence, civic engagement, and leadership abilities.
Current Eisener Scholar and Roycemore 11th-grade student Maya Nyima reflected on her experience with the scholarship, saying “The Eisner Scholarship has provided me with amazing opportunities. It has allowed me to attend high school at Roycemore, surrounded by unique classmates and devoted teachers.” To Maya, Roycemore means more than just education, “Roycemore's environment allows me to grow not only as a student but as an individual. I am grateful for the Eisner Scholarship and all Roycemore has done for me.”

Rober Eisner’s legacy is both as a steward of the Evanston community he called home and as a notable economist who advised presidents, governments, and the educational community. The Eisner Scholarship was established in his memory to ensure that students of all socioeconomic backgrounds had the opportunity to attend Roycemore. Robert Eisner’s commitment to community stewardship is mirrored in Roycemore’s vision to launch responsible citizens, innovative thinkers, and compassionate leaders. Roycemore’s diverse and intimate community, rooted in academic excellence, inspires each student to discover their passions, think without limits, find their voice, and live courageously.
"As the state of Illinois’ Most Diverse Private High School (Niche 2022 and 2023), we have made a commitment to maintaining socioeconomic diversity. The Robert Eisner Scholar Program was created to ensure that Roycemore remains accessible to any student engaged in their education and community. Each year the selection committee is extremely impressed by the motivated and talented students that apply. We are honored to have Eisner Scholars represent Roycemore," says Angela Peters Murphy, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid.
