Police said Davis, a convicted felon, does not have a firearm owner's license and his driver's license was suspended at the time of the traffic stop.
In addition to the felony charges, he faces misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license and a citation for no proof of insurance.
Cook County prosecutors approved three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and one count of reckless discharge of a firearm.
Davis was ordered held at Cook County Jail unless he can come up with $7,500 cash to secure his pretrial release. He is due back in court June 1.
