Giant Tree Falls Across Hartzell

The following is from the City of Evanston:

We received notice earlier this afternoon [Wednesday] about a downed tree at 2731 Hartzell.

As you can see from the attached photo, this is actually a very large private oak tree that has fallen across Hartzell, completely crushing the parkway tree at the front of the house. One vehicle sustained minor damage, and another parkway tree across the street also sustained minor damage as well.

Thankfully, no one was injured when the tree fell.

We currently have a double crew on site to clear the street and the sidewalks, and will remain there until the site is completely safe.
