The Rolling Meadows man is on parole for residential burglary, police said.

A Rolling Meadows man has been charged with attempted burglary after police say he tried to climb through a kitchen window of a home in the 900 block of Asbury Avenue Thursday afternoon.

Duane P. Davis, 28, has been charged with attempted residential burglary and possession of burglary tools, according to the Evanston Police Department. He is on parole in Illinois for residential burglary.

A witness to the attempted break-in, which occurred around 1 p.m., gave police a description of the suspect. Davis, who police saw a short time later, matched that description and initially tried to elude police, the department said.
