If you hear someone a somewhat gravelly, trembling voice say "Hello" as you enter Alley Gallery, it might be Jessica.
She's a 27-year-old double-yellow head green Amazon parrot who spends her time inside the Evanston gallery situated in an alley off Sherman Avenue. She belonged to the gallery's founder, Chris Molloy, who died in 2010.
Patch paid a visit to Alley Gallery Thursday, and got to hear Jessica say "hello." She has her own page on the gallery's website if you'd like to learn more about her. According to the website, she enjoys eating pomegranates, corn and beans, likes to look at visitors and prefers not to be touched.
An employee told Patch Jessica says "Hello," sometimes says "Goodbye" and occasionally says "Pretty bird."
