Noise Complaint Leads To Gun, Drug Arrest In Evanston: Report

A resident complaint about loud music coming from a car parked in Evanston led to an arrest on suspicion of gun and drug charges.

EVANSTON, IL — An unassuming early morning resident complaint about loud music coming from a parked car lead to an arrest in Evanston, according to a report.

Evanston police told Evanston Now that the department received a noise complaint at about 2:20 a.m. The caller told police that two people in an SUV were drinking alcohol in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue and said one of them may be armed.

According to police, when they arrived at the scene, the driver stepped out of the vehicle and a firearm fell from his clothing. Upon searching the vehicle further, officers said they discovered cannabis, suspected cocaine, suspected heroin and two loaded firearms — on of which was a 9mm ghost gun.

The driver, identified as 39-year-old Tremell Richardson, was arrested on suspicion of felony gun and drug charges. Police issued a citation to the passenger as well as a notice for misdemeanor possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
