Swimming Season Officially Over In Evanston

Evanston residents will have to wait until next summer to get back in the water.

EVANSTON, IL — Swimming season in Evanston is officially over and swimming areas are now closed, the city announced Wednesday.

There will be no lifeguards on duty from Thursday onward, so officials urged residents not to enter the water until next summer.

Sand areas are open all year long from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Dogs, whether leashed or unleashed, are not allowed on any beaches except for the Dog Beach south of Clark Street Beach at 1811 Sheridan Rd.
