Teens Brandish Firearm, Steal Cash From Child On Bike Near Evanston Township High School
Three boys robbed a young cyclist near Evanston Township High School after one of them showed off a gun in his pants, police said.

EVANSTON, IL — A child was robbed at gunpoint near Evanston Township High School on Saturday, police said.
Shortly before 6 p.m., a boy riding a bike north on the sidewalk on the east side of the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue was confronted by three other boys at the bus stop on the east side of Evanston Township High School, according to Evanston police.
The trio demanded the boy handover money, and one of them showed the boy the handle of a gun in his waistband, Cmdr. Ryan Glew said.

"The victim complied with demands and was able to walk away," Glew told Patch. "[He] left with his bike and no injuries."
The robbers got about $20 in cash. The boy they robbed rode home and then called police, Glew explained.

Detectives from the Evanston Police Department's juvenile division are investigating the case. As of Tuesday, no one was in custody.
