Evanston Community Foundation Awards Grants to 29 Organizations

The Evanston Community Foundation (ECF) awarded $240,850 in grants to 29 organizations and programs at its 2013/2014 Responsive Grant Awards event held at the North Shore Retirement Hotel. 
 
Midwest Child-Parent Centers Expansion received $15,000 to provide PreK  The grants included a special initiative grant in the amount of $15,000 to the Midwest Child-Parent Centers Expansion to provide PreK through 3rd grade support to enhance achievement in low income families in Evanston.  

The 29 recipients represented a broad range of categories from early childhood education, community development, family support and counseling, housing, workforce development, seniors, the arts, and basic human needs.

The 2013/2014 responsive grants awards set another record for the greatest number of grants and the largest amount awarded by ECF in a single grant cycle. It is the 27th such annual cycle, dating from 1987, when grants totaled $30,000. ECF awarded $217,000 at the 2012/2013 Responsive Grant Awards.
