EVANSTON, IL — Santa Claus is sleighing his way across the North Shore this holiday season, bringing joy, photos and plenty of ho, ho, ho's to local families around Evanston.
Whether the little elves are feeling naughty or nice, these events are the perfect way to make spirits bright amid the snow and ice.
From breakfasts to parades to reindeer visits, these festive Santa sightings are sure to have the whole workshop fa-la-la-ing into the holiday spirit.

Here are some of the spots in the north suburbs where you can catch jolly old St. Nick in person spreading holiday cheer in the Evanston area, starting right after Thanksgiving:
Santa at Chalet Wilmette
When: Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7, 8, 14, 15
Where: Chalet Nursery, 3132 Lake Ave., Wilmette
Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus to share your wish list and snap a festive photo. Appointments are already all booked up, but walk-ins are still welcome.

Northfield Holiday Fest
When: Dec. 4, 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m.
Where: Clarkson Park, 1950 New Willow Road, Northfield
Enjoy a park lighting, holiday music from local school choirs, crafts, make-your-own s'mores, and a visit from Santa. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Winnetka Tree Lighting
When: Dec. 6, 5 p.m.–6:30 p.m.
Where: Dwyer Park, 856 Elm Street, Winnetka
Celebrate the season with caroling, treats, and a visit from Santa, who will be escorted to the tree lighting by the Winnetka Fire Department. The tree lighting ceremony begins at 6 p.m.

Kick off the holiday season with Santa, Mrs. Claus and local officials. Enjoy holiday tunes from the Evanston Children’s Choir starting at 4:30 p.m., followed by a tree lighting at 5 p.m. Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with hot cocoa and treats, will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Merion, 1615 Chicago Ave.
