Top Vote-Getters in 5-Way EP Library Board Race: Election 2023 Results

Here are the top four vote-getters in the 5-way race for the Evergreen Park Public Library board race.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — All 12 village precincts have been counted in the Evergreen Park Library board race.

Cook County polls closed at 7 p.m. Early voting and vote-by-mail ballots are included in the total. Provisional ballots and late arriving vote-by-mail ballots are not included, according to the Cook County Clerk's Office. All results are unofficial.

Five candidates are running for four open seats on the library board in Evergreen Park’s only contested race. Kim Shine, Deborah Pearson, Nancy North and Keiran Kellam garnered enough votes to grab a seat on the Evergreen Park library board. Steve Doran was left standing without a chair.

With polls closed, here's where vote totals stand:

Nancy North - 608 (19.46%)
Kieran Kellem - 634 (20.2%)
Deborah Pearson - 682 (21.88%)
Kim Shine - 693 (22.18%)
Steve Doran - 442 (16.23%)

Kieran Kellam is a high school English and history teacher at Mount Carmel High School.
Nancy North is a retired teacher, editor, journalist and an IBEW steward. She is a facilitator at Renaissance Academy for Seniors.

Deborah Pearson is an insurance broker. She’s served on the Evergreen Park library board for 18 years, as secretary, treasurer and vice president.

Kim Shine is a retired teacher and a gifted program facilitator for 35 years in Evergreen Park School District 124. She has been a library trustee for 20 years, as secretary, treasurer and vice president.

Nancy North is a retired teacher, editor, journalist and an IBEW steward. She is a facilitator at Renaissance Academy for Seniors.

Steve Doran is also running for the board.
