Evergreen Park Youth Collect Twice The Donations From Last Year In Annual Coat Drive
Evergreen Park residents donated 942 items to help provide warmth to those in need in the youth department's annual coat drive.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL – Residents stepped up in a big way, donating twice the winter gear to the Evergreen Park Youth Department’s coat drive, marking the program's largest turnout yet.
From October 1 through November 30, community members donated a total of 942 items to help provide warmth to those in need. It was an impressive increase over last year’s 497 donations.
The coat drive was a collaborative effort as residents contributed winter coats, winter wear accessories, and blankets to drop-off sites at the Evergreen Park Village Hall, Evergreen Park Public Library, OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center, and Sigma Gamma Rho-Philo Affiliates Oak Lawn Chapter.
“I just want to thank everyone for their generosity,” Pyeisha Allen said in a news release, director of the youth department. “It means so much to see such strong community support for those who are in need. Thank you to our partner organizations that were drop-off locations for us. Their partnership really helped us reach more people in need.”
