Evergreen Park Football's White, Venhuizen Always Good For Six
A play-action pass between Evergreen Park quarterback Brandon White and tight end Kyle Venhuizen doesn't happen often. But when it does, it's been a touchdown every time for the Mustangs.
Though the don't often throw the ball, when they do there's one play that seems to work pretty well for the team, a simple play-action pass to tight end Kyle Venhuizen.
Though Venhuizen has only three catches total for the year, all three of them have gone for touchdowns, including his game-winning grab against Marshall that locked up
Midway through the fourth quarter and trailing 6-3, the Mustangs were driving, thanks to the running of tailback Victory Baker. But, facing a third-and-10 from the Marshall 24, Evergreen Park's coaches called on their little-used tight end with the game seemingly on the line.

“I was just trying to get behind everybody and hopefully it would just go in my hands,” Venhuizen said.
Luckily for Venhuizen, the coaches and the rest of the Mustangs, Venhuizen and quarterback Brandon White were in lockstep on the play and hooked up for an easy six.

“I told coach we needed to run (that play), and we scored off it,” White said. “I was just thinking, 'Make the throw, make the catch, touchdown.' ”
The score locked up the Mustangs' 10-6 win and propelled the team into the second round of the IHSA playoffs. Next, they will face Rock Island Alleman on Friday, Nov. 4, at home. A time for the second-round game will be announced on Monday.
