Back To School: Evergreen Park ESD 124 Academic Calendar 2025-2026

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Where did the summer go? There are just a few short weeks of summer left, until students head back to school this month.

Back-to-school planning has already begun in Evergreen Park Elementary School Dist. 124 for the 2025-2026 academic school year, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the new school year.

The first day of school for grade K-8 students is Aug. 21, with elementary schools dismissed at 11:20 a.m., and 11:40 a.m. for Central Middle School students (grades 6-9). The first full day for students is Aug. 22.

Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 124 calendar or your child’s school (Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, Northeast, and Central Middle School) for late starts, early dismissals, exams, open houses, athletic and school events, as well as your child's school.

Here is the list of dates to know for Dist. 124 schools this school year:

Aug. 21 - First day of school for K-8 and before school program. Early dismissal at K-5 schools at 11:40 a.m. and Central Middle School at 11:40 a.m.
Aug. 22 - First full day of classes and after school program for grades K-8.
Aug. 25 - First day of school for early childhood/preK classes.
Sept 1- Labor Day, off
Oct. 10 - Teacher’s Institute, no school
Oct. 13 - Indigenous People Day, off
Nov. 11 - Veterans Day, off
Nov. 24 - Parent-teacher conferences, no school
Nov. 25 - Parent-teacher conferences, 8 a.m. to noon, no school
Nov. 26 to Nov. 28 - Thanksgiving break
Dec. 1 - School resumes
Dec. 22 through Jan. 5 - Winter break
Jan. 6 - Teacher Institute, no school.
Jan. 7 - Classes resume
Jan. 19 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, off
Feb. 16 - Presidents Day, off
March 2 - Casimir Pulaski Day, off
April 3 through April 10 - Spring break
April 13 - Classes resume
May 25 - Memorial Day
May 28 - Graduation (tentative)
June 3- Last day of PreK/early childhood
June 6 - Last day of school for K-8, early dismissal 11:20 a.m. elementary; 11:40 a.m. middle school.
