Body Found On CSX Tracks Identified As 51-Year-Old Wilmington Man
The Cook County Medical Examiner determined that a man found on the CSX tracks took his own life.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A 51-year-old Wilmington man found on the CSX tracks Tuesday evening took his own life, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.
At 10:36 p.m., Evergreen Park police went to the 3000 block of West 102nd Street for the report of a deceased person on the train tracks. Upon arrival, officers learned that CSX railroad workers contacted dispatch to report a body on the tracks with major injuries.
The man was pronounced dead and transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy determined the man died of multiple injuries caused by being hit by a train.
