EPCHS Students Perform Rodgers & Hammerstein's Enchanting 'Cinderella'

Evergreen Park Community High School presents the musical 'Cinderella' Feb. 28-March 2, including lunch with Cinderella and the Prince.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Evergreen Park Community High School drama students hit the boards in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s enchanting musical “Cinderella.” Performances are Feb. 28, March 1 and March 2 in the EPCHS auditorium, 9901 S. Kedzie Ave.

Bring the whole family to enjoy this fairy tale classic. A special character luncheon is planned for starting at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, before the 2 p.m. matinée. Dine like royalty and take photos with Cinderella, the Prince, and all your favorite characters. Reservations for the special luncheon close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, but you can still buy tickets for the matinée up until the performance.

Rodgers and Hammerstein‘s musical “Cinderella” was originally written for television, but later played on stage, with music by Richard Rodgers and a book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. “Cinderella,” or “The Little Glass Slipper,” is a folk tale based on a young girl living in trying circumstances with her blended family.

The musical has been performed on television with Julie Andrews starring in the lead role in 1957, and in 1965 starring Leslie Warren.

Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, with a 2 p.m. matinée Sunday, March 2.
