Evergreen Park Girls Swim Team Dives Into Mission To Support Christmas Without Cancer
The EPCHS girls swim team raised $650 for the nonprofit that provides holiday gifts and financial help to families dealing with cancer.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The girls swim team at Evergreen Park Community High School dove into the season with a mission that went beyond the pool — giving back to families in need. The team recently raised $650 to support Christmas Without Cancer, a local nonprofit that provides holiday gifts and financial assistance to families affected by cancer.
The swimmers first volunteered at the Christmas Without Cancer 5K held on Sept. 20 in Evergreen Park. Inspired by that experience, the team decided to continue their efforts at home.
During the team’s annual home invitational on Sept. 27, the Mustang swimmers hosted a fundraiser featuring custom “Swimming for a Cure” T-shirts, which were sold to all participating teams. In addition, a 50/50 raffle held during the meet brought in even more donations — all of which were contributed directly to the nonprofit.
