Shopper Shot In Evergreen Park Menards Parking Lot In Robbery Attempt
A 63-year-old man was shot in the stomach when he refused to hand over his property during an armed robbery attempt, EPPD said.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — A 63-year-old man was shot during an attempted robbery in the Menards parking lot Monday in Evergreen Park. He is in stable condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Around 6:43 p.m. the man and a friend were loading their purchases into their car, when another car pulled up beside them, Evergreen Park police said. Three people got out of the car brandishing handguns, demanding their belongings.
Both refused to turn over their property, when one of the purported robbers shot the man in the stomach, police said. The trio jumped into their car and fled.
