Sisters Shoplift $14K In Merchandise From EP Macy's Stores: Police
The prosecutor said the Chicago sisters visited the Macy's spinoff stores in Evergreen Park 14 times, filling Macy's bags with merchandise.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Two sisters from Chicago are accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Macy’s spinoffs in Evergreen Park. Kierra S. Lovett-Taylor, 28, and her 24-year-old sister, Tainesha Lovett-Taylor, appeared Friday before Cook County Judge Linzey Jones on charges of retail theft and financial crimes.
The prosecutor said the sisters visited Macy’s at Western and 95th Street a total of 14 times from November up until Jan. 18, stealing merchandise totaling $14,643. According to the charges, the sisters were captured on video taking Macy’s bags from inside the store, or they’d bring their own Macy’s bags. The sisters would proceed on filling the bags with merchandise and leaving the store without paying, the prosecutor said.
The sisters were picked up outside the store Wednesday. The prosecutor said police found numerous store items in their car.

Kierra is currently on probation for burglary in DuPage County, a theft in Will County, and retail theft in Cook County, the prosecutor said.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Kierra is a high school graduate and licensed certified cosmetologist. She is currently working as an unarmed security guard. She lives with her grandmother and is active in church.

“Although the allegations are serious, they’re non-violent in nature,” her attorney said. He asked for a curfew monitor on sheriff’s electronic monitoring, so she could continue working.
“Would 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. allow you to continue working,” the judge asked.
“Yes,” Kierra replied.
“Keep focused on family and church,” Jones said.
Tainesha has convictions for felony theft, for which she received probation. She currently has an active warrant in Indiana. She works as a home health aide.
“You need to take care of whatever problem is there,” Jones said.
The assistant public defender said that Tainesha was not present for all the Macy’s thefts.
The sisters were released on a $20,000 I-bond. They’re due back in court Feb. 17 in Bridgeview.
“If either one of you get arrested or don’t show up in court, there is no bail,” the judge said.
