Spike in Evergreen Park Mosquitoes Leads to Village Spray-Down Tuesday

A recent uptick in mosquitoes has led local officials to take action.

All of Evergreen Park will get a mosquito abatement spray-down Tuesday evening due to a reported influx of the pests in recent days.

"This is due to increased mosquito activity in the area," village officials said, in an alert. "The spray is non-toxic; however, people with respiratory problems may want to use discretion in being outside."

The process will begin Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. It will include all quadrants of the South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District that encompasses Evergreen Park.
