Summer Fruits, Veggies, Garden Plants And Flowers Arrive Thursday At Evergreen Park Farmers Market

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The summer season begins on Thursday, June 12, when fruits, veggies, garden plants and flowers arrive at the 20th Village of Evergreen Park Farmers Market.

Stroll through the market at Yukich Field, 89th Street and Kedzie Avenue where shoppers will find their bliss in a variety of handmade items, tasty foods and yummy baked goods. Now that school is out, watch for some fun family activities this summer.

“It has been wonderful to see the market grow over the years,” commented Beth Novotney, director of the Office of Citizens’ Services and coordinator of the market. “Some of our vendors have been with us the entire time, such as Laurie’s Creations, Dotson’s Farm and Hiemenz Nursery to name a few. We’ve been able to attract many new vendors, including a handful this year.”

The Record Shop on 95th will be spinning tunes to squeeze tomatoes to every Thursday through Oct. 30. For more info, give the village a call at 708-422-8776. Weekly vendor attendance may vary.
