Nicor Gas joined forces with local leaders and organizations at the Maywood Community Connection Resource Fair to provide meaningful support to area residents ahead of the holiday season. Together with Top Box Foods, Illinois 7th District State Representative and Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch, 4th District State Senator and Majority Leader Kimberly Lightford, the Village of Maywood and a dedicated team of volunteers, Nicor Gas helped share free turkey dinners, groceries and access to essential community services with more than 275 Maywood residents and their families.

The event was a true reflection of collaboration and care, bringing together government agencies, nonprofits and local partners to make a lasting impact. Nicor Gas extends its sincere appreciation to CEDA, Cook County Health, South Suburban Housing Center, The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Illinois Tollway, The Salvation Army, Illinois State Treasurer and the American Red Cross for their vital contributions to this community celebration.

At Nicor Gas, we believe that supporting our neighbors goes beyond delivering energy—it’s about helping families thrive and events like the Maywood Community Connection Resource Fair demonstrate how collaborations and compassion can make a real difference in people’s lives.

Nicor Gas remains committed to the safety, well-being and prosperity of the communities it serves. Residents can find more local resources and support at nicorgas.com/C3.
