Bauer, who once lived in the village before a long career that reshaped Chicago’s federal courts and DuPage County justice system. The 7th Circuit judge and former U.S. attorney, celebrated for integrity and pragmatism, died at 99 in North Riverside. A public service is planned for early 2026.
