Annual Ice Cream Social Set For Aug. 17 In Frankfort
From 4 to 6 p.m., you can enjoy free ice cream, kids games, live music by the Frankfort Brass Band and the "PieLympics" competition.
FRANKFORT, IL — Join the Frankfort Historical Society and the Frankfort Preservation Foundation for the annual ice cream social on Aug. 17 at Founders Center, 140 Oak St.
From 4 to 6 p.m., you can enjoy free ice cream, kids games, live music by the Frankfort Brass Band and the "PieLympics" competition. Ice cream will be scooped by scoopers from the Frankfort fire and police departments, according to the historical society.
The "PieLympics" is a pie-eating competition. According to the historical society, you must eat without use of hands or utensils. Banana cream pies are provided by Enrico's, and whoever finishes first is declared the winner. There is no entry fee; prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each of the three age divisions, according to event organizers.
