Baseball Bat Beating Lands Tinley Teen in County Jail: Cops

He said he was "helping his friend out" following an attempted burglary, police said.

FRANKFORT, IL — A Tinley Park park teen attacked another young man with a baseball bat outside a Frankfort gas station, police said.

When deputies got to the Circle K station on West Lincoln Highway about midnight Thursday, 18-year-old Jake Murdock explained that he was merely “helping his friend out” after his pal let him know “someone had just tried to break into his house,” police said.

Murdock and this friend, another 18-year-old, pulled up in a Hyundai on three teens who were sitting around on the side of the gas station, police said. Murdock then allegedly produced a baseball bat and used it to bludgeon a 19-year-old from Mokena.
