Border Separation Protest Planned For Frankfort

Families Belong Together is a series of nationwide protests, and the village will be the site of one of them later this month.

FRANKFORT, IL — A rally and march to protest the current practice by the Trump administration to separate children from parents who cross illegally into the United States will be held at the end of June in Frankfort. The local event is part of Families Belong Together, a series of nationwide protests condemning the border separation policy.

The Frankfort rally, which is sponsored by Southwest Suburban Activists, will be at 11 a.m. June 30 at Breidert Green. Participants can sign up for the protest at the national event's website.

"Donald Trump and his administration are cruelly separating children from their families," the national website for Families Belong Together states. "But we won't allow it to continue."
