Butera Market In Frankfort Set To Close, Date Uncertain: Employee
Workers at the Frankfort grocery store have not been given a date for when it will close, but it is expected that it will be in October.

FRANKFORT, IL — Butera Market in Frankfort is set to close its doors for good, but exactly when remains unclear, according to an employee of the grocery store with knowledge of the situation.
The employee told Patch that workers at the grocery store first became aware of the pending closure through one of the store's vendors on Sept. 15, and that corporate ownership met with some department managers Sept. 17 to inform them of the plans to close.
The employee requested anonymity because they feared repercussions from the grocery store's ownership.

Employees are being given an option to transfer to another of the Butera Market locations, but those locations — Algonquin, Des Plaines, Elgin, Genoa, Grayslake, Harwood Heights, Lindenhurst, Norridge, South Elgin and Palatine — are all a considerable distance from Frankfort, which makes a transfer unlikely for many of the Frankfort store's workers, the employee said.
Butera Market was founded in 1963 under the name Butera Finer Foods, according to information on the company's website.
