Cancer Support Center's Walk Of Hope Planned On June 1 In Frankfort

The walk will be held at Commissioners Park, and will coincide with National Cancer Survivor Day.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Cancer Support Center will host its annual Walk of Hope in Frankfort on June 1, according to a news release.

The walk will be held at Commissioners Park, and will coincide with National Cancer Survivor Day. The community is invited to participate in the event, and registration opens at 8 a.m. on June 1, event organizers said.

The walk will start at 9:30 a.m.

There will also be treats and coffee available for purchase from Travelin' Tom's Coffee Truck; as well as kids activities, including an inflatable obstacle course.

"This event is a powerful testament to the strength and resilience of our community," Executive Director Kristen Kolwelter said in a release. "By participating in the Walk of Home, you are directly contributing to the well-being of your neighbors, friends and families navigating the challenges of cancer. Together, we truly make a difference."

This year's event is presented by Affiliated Oncologists Gynecologic Cancer Institute of Chicago.

The walk supports the Cancer Support Center's mission of empowering all who are impacted by cancer by providing a range of services free of charge.
