Car Burglaries Reported Thursday In Frankfort: Police
There were multiple car burglaries in the southwest subdivisions of Frankfort early Thursday.
FRANKFORT, IL — Multiple car burglaries were reported early Thursday, Frankfort Police shared in a news release. Police said officers responded to multiple reports of a suspicious vehicle and burglaries to motor vehicles in the southwest subdivisions of Frankfort at 6 a.m. Thursday.
Several residents reported individuals entering parked vehicles with the intent to steal items, police said. The suspects were driving a white sedan, which is suspected to have been stolen.
Officers located the vehicle; however, it fled the area "in an erratic manner" before it could be stopped, according to police.

"Crimes of this nature continue to be reported across the suburbs," police said. The Frankfort Police Department advised residents to take preventive measures to reduce the risk of property crimes, including the following:
- Always lock your vehicles and conceal valuables before leaving them unattended.
- Do not leave keys, key fobs or garage door openers inside your vehicle.
- Follow a nightly routine to ensure your garage, vehicle and home are secured before going to bed.
If you observe suspicious activity, do not approach or confront the individuals, police said. Instead, contact the Frankfort Police Department at 815-485-2500, or dial 911 in the event of an emergency.
