Congressman Sean Casten's 17-Year-Old Daughter Dies
The daughter of Congressman Sean Casten, who is currently running in the IL-06 Democratic primary, has died.
According to an announcement from Casten's congressional office, Gwen Casten, 17, died Monday morning. Rumors of the teen's death made the rounds of candidates' offices, as early voting began Monday for the upcoming June 28 Illinois primary.

Trio Of Armed Teens Stole 2 Cars In Midlothian, Tried In Alsip: Police
Three teenagers carjacked a vehicle in Midlothian early Monday morning, police said.
According to officers, a man was parked in the parking lot of Walgreen's at 4800 West 148th Street at around 2:10 a.m. Monday when three teenagers approached his car. Police said the teens were each armed with a handgun.

Mokena Mayor Makes Return After 4-Month Absence
Mokena Mayor Frank Fleischer was back on the dais in his return to the Mokena Village Board of Trustees meeting Monday. Fleischer had been absent since being hospitalized for a fall that happened at his home Feb. 11 and a subsequent previously planned procedure.
No Bond For Oak Lawn Father Of Shaken Baby: Judge
A Cook County judge ordered a father accused of shaking his 8-week-old daughter to death to be held without bail. Edward Janiszewski, 37, of Oak Lawn, appeared Thursday before Judge Donald Havis on a first-degree murder charge.

After two years of going express with Greek-to-go cuisine, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church's Greek Fest returns in Oak Lawn June 18 and June 19, along with the dancing, live entertainment and famous cuisine. The fest runs from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
