Images Of Burglary, Arson Suspect In Durbin's Fire Released

UPDATED: The pizzeria also confirmed how long it would be closed because of the weekend fire at its Frankfort location.

FRANKFORT, IL — Images of a suspect in the burglary and possible arson Sunday of Durbin's Frankfort location were posted online by the restaurant and Frankfort police. The pizzeria also confirmed how long it would be closed.

"We regret to inform our customers that we were broken into last night. … We will be closed for at least a month and hopefully be open for Fall Fest," the restaurant stated in a post on its Facebook page. "We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope justice will be served!"

According to authorities, a fire broke out late Sunday, July 15, at Durbin's location at 14 Elwood St. The Illinois State Fire Marshal is investigating the possibility of arson, while Frankfort police are handling the burglary, said police Deputy Chief Kevin Keegan. He would not comment on what was taken from Durbin's because it's an open investigation.

"Unfortunately the guy thought that he was covering all of his tracks after trying to rob us that he started it on fire on his way out," the restaurant stated.

Frankfort police also released security camera images of two suspects. One individual is seen inside the restaurant by the register behind the counter. The other individual is seen in the parking lot outside the restaurant, but this person has been ruled out as a suspect in the case, Keegan said Tuesday afternoon.

"We are still looking to identify the other subject," Keegan said.

Anyone with information about these individuals or the break-in and fire should contact Frankfort police detectives at 815-469-9435.
