Fort Frankfort Playground Renovation Continues
The playground equipment has arrived, and construction of the equipment will start this month.
FRANKFORT, IL — The renovation of the Fort Frankfort playground is well underway, as the project has an anticipated completion around Labor Day, the Frankfort Park District shared.
The playground equipment has arrived, and construction of the equipment will start this month. The splash pad at Commissioners Park remains open during the playground renovation, according to the Park District.
The new playground will feature two Timber Form play structures purchased from Columbia Cascade, designed with ramps to enhance accessibility for all abilities, the park district said. There will also be several standalone pieces of Burke play equipment, such as the inclusive Orbit, Musical Play Ensemble, Ally Climber Web, an Embankment Luge slide, and numerous swings.

The playground area will be equipped with rubber surfacing to ensure a safer, more accessible play environment, the park district said.
