Frankfort Arts Association Plans Grand Opening Of New Creative Space

A grand opening is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. on April 30, with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Frankfort Arts Association is poised to open its new creative space, Underground, on April 30.

The association signed a lease on the space at the Olde Frankfort Mall, 20 S. White St., late last year. A grand opening is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. on April 30, with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.

The 1,450-square-foot space will serve as a "retail space, cozy gathering area and a creative workspace" for the association, according to the FAA's website.

"As we unveil Underground, the new creative hub for the Frankfort Arts Association, we are not just opening doors to a venue; we are unlocking a vibrant future for community and culture in Frankfort," FAA president Christina Cooley told Patch. "This space embodies our commitment to nurture, celebrate, and amplify the arts."

The association also hosts exhibits for public viewing at Village Hall. 432 W. Nebraska St., and at Studio C, 4 Hickort St., #14B. Current exhibits include: "Destination Unknown," which runs through June 3 at Studio C and "Part of the Family," which runs through June 20 at Village Hall.
