Find out which downtown roads to avoid during the weekend music event.

FRANKFORT, IL — This weekend's eighth annual Frankfort Bluegrass on the Green will have music lovers gathering on the village's Breidert Green to watch performances on two stages. The event also means downtown parking restrictions and street closings because of increased traffic, according to the Frankfort Police Department.

The following Frankfort roads will have limited access during the festival Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15. Here's what to expect:

  • Kansas Street: The street will be closed from 8 a.m. Saturday until 10 p.m. Sunday. No parking will be allowed between Oak and White streets starting at 2 a.m. Saturday.
  • Ash Street: The street will be closed between Nebraska and Kansas streets from 8 a.m. Saturday until 10 p.m. Sunday. No parking will be allowed along that same stretch starting at 2 a.m. Saturday.
  • East Bowen Street: No parking will be allowed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Signs indicating street closings and parking restrictions will be posted during the festival. Violators will be ticketed and towed.
