The Frankfort Bluegrass Festival on the Green returned to the spotlight and the crowds in 2022, only a few years removed from back-to-back global award recognition, including the 2018 International Bluegrass Music Association’s “Event of the Year” Award.
This year's free summer festival is set for July 13 and July 14. Support from sponsors and grassroots fundraising remain vital to hosting a free event, organizers said.

“Our faithful supporters allow us to keep our pledge to bring free, top quality, award-winning bluegrass acts to Frankfort every summer to celebrate this truly American music,” said Amanda Thompson, fest coordinator. “CD&Me is such a treasured destination to help us realize our pledge.”
“International recognition raised expectations just before a pandemic altered all our lives,” Steve Haberichter, founder of the fest and participating musician, said in a release. "The fundraiser is a sneak peek at the superior musicianship we recruit, and our audiences appreciate that."
Advance tickets are $40 or $45 at the door, and include music, heavy appetizers and beverages courtesy of sponsors Blue Island Beer Company and Trails Edge Brewery. There will be raffles and split the pot opportunities.
