Frankfort Chamber Of Commerce To Host Wine And Ale Walk Sunday
The event will feature 21 wine stops, four ale stops, and seven food stops, plus live music at the Breidert Green Stage.
FRANKFORT, IL — Walking and chewing bubblegum is overrated. Those looking for real fun can try walking and drinking wine and ale, and the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce is happy to oblige those interested in imbibing with its 10th annual Wine and Ale Walk.
The event, scheduled to take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in downtown Frankfort, will showcase several businesses in the downtown area — all within walking distance, of course — where people can stop to sample wine, ale and food, said Liz Aleck, director of events and memberships at the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce.
Local restaurants supplying the food portion of the Wine and Ale Walk are Caffe Milan, Ambrosino's Italian Market & Deli, Opa!, Aurelio's, and Francesca's Fortunato, while Raffy's Candy Store and Kernel Sweetooth will be providing desserts, Aleck said.

Red and white wine will be provided by The Wine Thief, and ale will be provided by Trails Edge Brewing Company and Cultivate Community Table.
In addition to the food and drink, participants will receive a goody bag and a free wine tumbler as a souvenir. Live music will be performed on the Breidert Green Stage by the band Cloud9.

"I think this is a great way to experience the heart of downtown Frankfort to check out all the businesses and restaurants involved," Aleck said. "It'll be a fun event, and beautiful weather is expected."
Registration for the Wine and Ale Walk is $50 per person and is open to anyone 21 and older; however, designated drivers can register for just $10 and will be able to sample all of the food, just none of the alcohol. Designated drivers must also be 21 or older.
