Frankfort Chili Cook Off 2019: Info, Registration

The annual Chili Cook-Off is on the horizon. Get ready to cook (or taste) the best professional- and amateur-made chili around!

FRANKFORT, IL — It's that time of year again! Register now for the 24th annual Chili Cook-Off, run by the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is hosting the even as a part of its Winter on the Green event. On Saturday, Feb. 2, the cook-off will run from noon to 2 p.m. at Breidert Green.

You don't need to be a master chef to participate; there are amateur and professional categories. If you're not a cook at all, that's fine too! You can come out to taste and judge the chili.

It's free to enter, free to come taste and there are prizes for top chilies.

There are a few requirements:

  • Bring at least four gallons of chili
  • Bring the chili warm and ready to serve in an electric crock pot
  • Bring an extension cord for the pot
  • Bring a small serving ladle
  • Arrive at 11:15 a.m. to set up and sign in

The mystery judges will rate each chili on: aroma, color, consistency, bite, originality, flavor and heat.
