Frankfort Ranks High in List of Safest Illinois Cities

Frankfort has made the cut as one of the safest cities in Illinois.

According to a recent study by “ValuePenguin”, the Village of Frankfort ranked No. 5
in mid-sized cities — those with populations of between 15,000 and 30,000 residents — in its listing of safest cities in Illinois.

Frankfort ranked No. 28 in the overall safety rating. “ValuePenguin” analyzed the latest FBI crime reports of 291 communities with populations of at least 5,000 for the study. The score takes into account violent and property crime.

“Our police department works very hard on safety and security for our residents. They are constantly looking for ways to improve communication to our residents to increase their efforts for a safe community,” said Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland.
