GreenDrop Opens Donation Center In Frankfort

Residents can donate gently-used items to GreenDrop's nonprofit partner, the American Red Cross.

FRANKFORT, IL — GreenDrop has opened a new donation Center in Frankfort, providing a location for residents to donate their gently-used items to GreenDrop's nonprofit partner, the American Red Cross, according to a news release from the business.

This is GreenDrop's second donation center in Illinois.

The Frankfort location is at 21120 S LaGrange Road, in the Frankfort Crossing shopping plaza. The donation center will be open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. to accept drop-offs of lightly used clothing, shoes, blankets, books, kitchenware and housewares.

“We’re excited to expand our services to Frankfort, offering residents a simple and sustainable way to support the American Red Cross,” said Brooke Evans, Director of GreenDrop Donation Centers. “We’re eager to become part of the Frankfort community with this new location.”

“Funds received through the GreenDrop partnership are applied where the need is greatest, whether that’s disaster relief, lifesaving blood, critical services for military families and veterans, training like CPR and water safety or international aid,” said Anne McKeough, Chief Development Officer of the American Red Cross. “The partnership with GreenDrop helps us carry out our lifesaving mission every day.”

Donors can drive up to the donation center where they are greeted by a GreenDrop attendant who collects the items on behalf of the American Red Cross. Donors in return receive a tax-deductible receipt, according to a release.
