Hickory Creek 7th Grade Girls Basketball Will Play In Third Place Game

The Frankfort team will play for third place in the state tournament on Dec. 7.

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort District 157-C's Hickory Creek Middle School seventh grade girls' basketball team will play for third place in the Class 4A state tournament on Dec. 7.

The team from Frankfort won its first round in the tournament against St. Jacob Triad, 33-30. Hickory Creek then lost in the semifinals against Normal's Kingsley, 29-20, according to IESA.

Hickory Creek was undefeated going into the state tournament, and now has a record of 23-1.

The team will face Willowbrook's Westview Hills at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the third-place game at Morton Junior High School.

The state championship game will be played directly after the third place game, and is between Normal's Kingsley and New Lenox's Liberty, according to IESA.
