Hickory Creek Eighth Grade Girls Basketball Team Heads To State Tournament
The team, which is 18-5 this season, will play Downers Grove's Herrick at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday in Normal.
FRANKFORT, IL — Hickory Creek Middle School's eighth grade girls basketball team will compete in the Class 4A state tournament, starting Dec. 16.
The team, which is 18-5 this season, will play Downers Grove's Herrick at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday at Normal's Parkside Junior High School. Herrick is 16-1, according to IESA.
The winner of the game will advance to the semi-finals, and face the winner of Minooka vs. Homewood's Hart. The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday.

The third-place and the state championship games will be on Thursday.
To advance to the state tournament, Hickory Creek was the winner of its sectional and defeated Romeoville's Martinez, 49-19, according to IESA.
