Hickory Creek Seventh Grade Girls Basketball Finishes Third In State

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort District 157-C's Hickory Creek Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team has placed third in the state after the IESA Class 4A state tournament.

Hickory Creek played against Willowbrook's Westview Hills in the third-place game, and won 36-33. The Frankfort team finished the season with a 24-1 record.

According to IESA, the team from Frankfort won its first round in the tournament against St. Jacob Triad, 33-30. Hickory Creek then lost in the semifinals against Normal's Kingsley, 29-20, according to IESA.

Normal's Kingsley went on to win the state tournament, defeating New Lenox's Liberty, 28-23.
