Howl-A-Woof Scheduled For Saturday At Bark Park in Frankfort

The 10th annual event features a bone hunt and costume contest for man's best friend.

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort dogs can get ready to strut their stuff and eat treats during the Frankfort Park District's 10 annual Howl-A-Woof Saturday at the Bark Park at Commissioners Park, 22108 S. 80th Ave.

The free event is scheduled to feature a bone yard hunt and trick-or-treating for the canines, followed by a costume contest with prizes for best overall, funniest and scariest costumes, according to Frankfort Park District Recreation Supervisor Cali DeBella.

Gates will open at 9:50 a.m. and the festivities will start at 10 a.m., DeBella said. A rainout date is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 24.

Howl-A-Woof is open to the public, but those who wish to apply for membership in the Bark Park will be able to do so at the event, DeBella said.

Midwest Animal Hospital, Camp Bow Wow and All About the K-9 representatives will be on site to provide information about the services they provide, DeBella said. Howl-A-Woof is sponsored by Bentley's Pet Stuff.
